County Executive Scott Walker didn't veto any of the Board's transit service restorations. There will be no paratransit service cuts or fare increases in 2008. There will be more routes than Walker orignally proposed stay saved. Bus fares will go up 25 cents to $2, however, and routes will be lost. The County Board did not save them all.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Transit System next year will eliminate bus service on Route  (Vliet St.) from Water Street to 47th St.; Route 80 on the Locust / Hopkins branch; Route 31 east of 10th St.; and Route 53 east of Kinnickinnic Ave., according to county documents.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can see the routes that were saved and the routes that weren't &lt;a href="http://www.storyhill.net/2008%20Budget%20-%20Segment%20Eliminations%2010_07.pdf"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Those saved include:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Route 12 north of Florist Avenue, serving Supervisors Toni Clark’s and Joe Rice’s districts;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Route 23 north and west of 91st and Mill Road, serving riders in Supervisors Rice’s and Roger Quindel’s districts;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Route 31, west of 76th Street in Supervisors Jim “Luigi” Schmitt’s and Lynne DeBruin’s districts;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Route 67, south of Connell on 84th and 92nd Streets in Supervisor John F. Weishan, Jr.’s, district;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Routes 19/20 South of Layton in Supervisor Richard D. Nyklewicz, Jr.’s, district;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Routes 15 and 55 in Supervisor Patricia Jursik’s district;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Route 35 south of Howard Avenue in Supervisors Dan Devine’s and Mark Borkowski’s districts;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Route 27 to the Glendale Industrial Park in Supervisor James G. Please note: the map says route 20 is being eliminated, but it's really will become route 19. It will be shortened, however, and go no further south than Layton Ave.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The eliminations would have occured on &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 15&lt;/span&gt; on the Clement-Howard-Pennsylvania-15th branch and the 5th &amp;amp; Columbia loop; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 19&lt;/span&gt; south of Layton Avenue; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 20&lt;/span&gt; south of Layton; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 23&lt;/span&gt; north and west of 91st &amp;amp; Mill Rd.; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 27&lt;/span&gt; to the Glendale IndustrialPark; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 31&lt;/span&gt; east of 10th and west of 76th; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 35&lt;/span&gt; south of Howard Avenue; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 40&lt;/span&gt; to the Ryan park-ride lot; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 49&lt;/span&gt; to the Green Bay and Brown Deer park-ride lot; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 53&lt;/span&gt; east of Kinnickinnic Ave.; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 67&lt;/span&gt; south of Connell Avenue; and &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 80&lt;/span&gt; south of Mitchell International Airport.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Walker also proposed to "reorganize" several routes to reduce operating costs. Service would be eliminated entirely on &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 11&lt;/span&gt; from Water Street to 47th St. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 31&lt;/span&gt; service would be moved from Washington Blvd. to Vliet St. between 47th and 60th Streets. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Routes&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;15&lt;/span&gt; and &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;55&lt;/span&gt; would be reorganized as well. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;15&lt;/span&gt; would terminate at Packard and Layton. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 55&lt;/span&gt; would provide service on the former &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 15&lt;/span&gt; south of Layton on Packard and Chicago. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 55&lt;/span&gt; service east of Packard and Layton would be eliminated. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Routes 12 and 80&lt;/span&gt; would be reorganized. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 80&lt;/span&gt; service on the Locust/Hopkins Branch would be eliminated. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 12&lt;/span&gt; service north of Florist would also be eliminated. The &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 12&lt;/span&gt; Hampton Ave. Branch would become a branch of &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Route 80&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Overall fixed route bus hours were projected to decrease 9.6% and bus passenger revenues were projected to decrease $2,155,764 due to proposed service adjustments.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We need more transit, not less.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Immediately below are videos posted since Walker announced he would propose maintaining the Transit-Plus sevice areas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Real people.
